2026 Rocky Mountain Police & Fire Chaplain Annual Meeting
One Team, One Purpose

Date | Time:
April 22, 2026 from 9:00am to 5:00pm.

Location:
Discovery Christian Church
2605 W 144th Ave
Broomfield, CO 80023

At Rocky Mountain Police and Fire Chaplains, we serve as one team with one purpose. Though we operate across different agencies, regions, and roles, we are united by a shared calling to care for those who protect and serve. Our strength is found not in individual effort, but in collective commitment, mutual trust, and a common mission.

One team means we communicate clearly, support one another fully, and respond with unity and humility. We recognize that no single chaplain stands alone. We carry the work together, share responsibility, and remain accountable to the mission and to each other.

One purpose means our focus remains clear. We exist to provide compassionate, consistent, and culturally competent chaplaincy care to law enforcement, fire service professionals, and their families. Every decision, response, and relationship is guided by this purpose.

As we move into 2026, One Team One Purpose calls us to greater alignment, deeper collaboration, and renewed commitment. Together, we will show up with integrity, readiness, and care, serving not for recognition, but for the good of those entrusted to us.

Our keynote speaker this year is Jerry Schemmel, former voice of the Denver Nuggets and Colorado Rockies. Jerry is a survivor of the United Airlines Flight 232 crash in which 112 people lost their lives. He will share his powerful story of survival and how that experience forever changed him.

Jerry’s focus will center on a question that is deeply relevant to all of us: What do you do when you are faced with a crash in your own life, and how do you move forward in the midst of difficult and challenging situations?

As chaplains, we encounter this question on many levels. We walk alongside others in their moments of crisis while also navigating our own. Jerry’s story will challenge us, encourage us, and provide meaningful perspective for the work we are called to do.
